The First Court of Appeals issued one family law opinion yesterday, Miller v. Smith, No. 01-13-00243-CV in which the appellant sued the appellee for divorce based on an informal marriage. In the trial court, appellee relied upon an affidavit appellant executed for another matter in which she stated she had not resided with appellee during the time of the purported informal marriage. The trial court granted summary judgment and the court of appeals affirmed.

The Fourteenth Court of Appeals issued one family law opinion yesterday, In the Interest of E.W. aka E.T.W., a Child, Cause No. 14-14-00751-CV in which the court of appeals affirmed the termination of the mother’s parental rights.
